Carol Yahr began teaching voice over 12 years ago. She has developed a strong emphasis on breathing technique and believes it is essential to understand the proper use of the head and chest registers to find the right singing balance. Carol has had outstanding success with singers at all levels from beginners to experienced professionals.
Her students have performed with the Metropolitan Opera, the Outreach Ensemble of the Colorado Opera, The Virginia Arts Festival, the Amalfi Coast Festival (Italy), Opera Company of Brooklyn, The Bronx Opera, One World Symphony, the Chelsea Opera and New York Opera Forum among others.
If you’re interested in vocal study, please contact Carol.
“Carol has a talent for figuring out where a singer’s “problem zones” are and giving them a methodology to make real, tangible progress quickly. Every student of hers whom I have heard gets consistently better and maintains that level of improvement.”
